Firstly, a very warm welcome to iapetus.co.uk, the online manifestation of our lovely gallery which houses our beautiful and quirky handmade jewellery, gifts, home accessories and so much more. We(that's Anna Brook and Chris Marks) started iapetus gallery in 2005 as the result of our frustration with the mass-produced offerings of many jewellery and giftware shops. Our ambition was to bring unusual and unique handmade items to our home town of Malvern - items we'd love to shop for ourselves.

As the drawing develops I learn more and more about them. I work with Artists' Coloured Pencils because they're such a sensitive medium, now increasingly used by animal artists for their ability torender fine detail - especially fur and feathers - and depth of colour. There's a palette of over 250 hues to choose from - that's why the colouring is so subtle. By building up the colour on the page, you can get all the shades and flecking that make up an animal's coat.
