The village of Staithes on the north Yorkshire coast has always been and still is a magnet for art and artists. Our aim at Staithes Gallery is to provide a showcase right in the heart of the oldvillage for the very best contemporary artwork inspired by Staithes and the surrounding area. The Geall Gallery and Artisan Cafe are to be found in the steam railway village of Grosmont nestled in the spectacular landscape of the North Yorkshire Moors national park some 6 miles outside ofWhitby. We take great pride in what we do and hopefully provide a unique and pleasurable experience.

Since 1988 Daisy Barnes has worked as an artist and painter in the English Watercolour tradition. Her subjects include landscapes, seascapes and flowers, drawing her inspiration from the atmosphericscenery of the North York Moors, its valleys and coast. The Moorland Studio and Gallery is situated in the attractive village of Hutton Le Hole, nr Kirkbymoorside in the heart of the North York Moors, and forms part of an interesting group of craft workshops.

Welcome to the website of The Art Cafe, a refreshing new space in the heart of Whitby. Our aim is to create an atmosphere that is vibrant yet minimal, exciting yet relaxing; a perfect place to eat,drink and buy art and small gifts in a range of styles and media.

John Freeman is well known for his paintings of the North Yorkshire landscape, and in recent years, working almost exclusively in water colours, has established a reputation for his exciting snowscenes of the area creating a combination of clarity and warmth not often found in this type of subject. A selection of his work is now in print and it is proposed to add regularly to this collection of over 100 subjects in both open and limited editions.

Alongside the classes, we hold some weekend workshops run by guest artists in all sorts of subjects, such as pastels, figure drawing, lino-printing and lots more. Station Art Workshop is situated inthe Station Workshop Units on the site of the old railway station in Robin Hood's Bay.

Rural Arts is an arts organisation based in Thirsk and working across North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley. The Courthouse is an arts centre in Thirsk with a gallery, shop, cafe, art studios andcomputer suite. We provide regular exhibitions, workshops, performances, children's activities and film screenings.
