About the Business
BAR - Brent Artist's Resource is an artist led voluntary organisation founded in 1984. We aim to: serve the cultural needs of the people of Brent and North West London, provide a supportive environment for artists in their professional development and create opportunities to participate in the Visual Arts through exhibitions, workshops, mentoring schemes and information.
We run a rolling programme of exhibitions in permanent and temporary use venues. Exhibitions are a mixture of community open shows and shows by invited artists that cover a wide range of artistic practice. Other activities include art workshops, artists residence programmes, a peer-group, training and development of members, mentoring of artists, dealing with interested members of the public, involvement in key community events such as Black History Month, Brent Respect Festival and other artist-focused projects such as Emerge.
