The Cooper Gallery is a vibrant creative art-space in the heart of Barnsley town centre, it has a regular programme of contemporary touring exhibitions and exciting events. The Gallery is also home tothe Craft Showcase which features crafts and artwork for sale by regional and local artists. The Gallery is home to the Cooper Trustees collection of 17th to 20th century paintings, watercolours and drawings by artists including JMW Turner, Wadsworth and Atkinson Grimshaw.
We offer a varied and interesting artistic programme showcasing the best in Theatre, Comedy, Music, Dance, Exhibitions and Family shows. We have space available for events, meetings, workshops andspecial occasions and are in a great location easily accessed by both road and public transport.

The exhibition features the heritage of Brooke's Mill in Huddersfield, covering four centuries of working life. The Gallery is a based in the refurbished Spinning sheds in the old mill. With vintageimages, fabric samples, artifacts and oral history of mill workers memories. The exhibition celebrates the many generations who worked in the mill. At KIAC we host regular ART EXHIBITIONS in our very own GAGE GALLERY. You can also HIRE THE GALLERY to put on your own exhibition or event. We have ARTISTS STUDIOS for rent at very reasonable pricesas well as an ARTS EDUCATION SPACE for hire where you can run workshops or regular classes or just get creative for a few hours. We run regular LIFE DRAWING sessions and SCULPTURE CLASSES. You can also use KIAC as a location to shoot your FILM, video or FASHION PHOTOSHOOT.

All areas, from the warehouse, courtyard, events room, roof terrace, right through to the basement, are available for hire by the day.
S1 Artspace is an artist-led organisation presenting an annual programme of contemporary exhibitions, commissions, screenings and events. S1 also provides studio space for contemporary artists atvarying stages in their careers, from recent graduates to established artists working at an international level.
She also aims to help current students at the University by giving them advice and a platform to sell their work. Elisa won a Kirklees New Youth Enterprise Award in 2012 for Crafty Praxis and aKirklees Youth Enterprise Award for Elisa Etemad Jewellery, her jewellery business established in 2009. Crafty Praxis is a place where people not only buy handmade arts and crafts from around 100 local and national craft practitioners but learn craft techniques too at workshops.
