
Opened by Mackenzie and Susan, Arthaus gallery has remained the only gallery dedicated to Mackenzie's work. Even as an international artist now working from his Brighton studio, Mackenzie has alwayskept his ties with the North and stayed true to his roots which is reflected in the work he creates.

Whether working in clay or with paint, I apply the same principal of building up layers and texture. Using different thicknesses of paint, and utilizing collage, ink and pastel, I can create surfaceinterest and depth in the painting. By using clay as a canvas, I can build up the surface in various stages by using slips, oxides and glazes, often multi firing and adding to a piece until I am satisfied with the results.

Alongside the classes, we hold some weekend workshops run by guest artists in all sorts of subjects, such as pastels, figure drawing, lino-printing and lots more. Station Art Workshop is situated inthe Station Workshop Units on the site of the old railway station in Robin Hood's Bay.

Opened in September 2005 and extended in 2009, Lund Gallery is the Studio Gallery of established lansdcape artist Debbie Loane. In addition to showing Debbie's own work, the Gallery takes pride inexhibiting what it believes to be the best contemporary arts, ceramics and crafts from across the UK for collectors to view and purchase. The gallery occupies converted barns on a smallholding 25 minutes drive north from York, just outside the market town of Easingwold.

Clare Lindley is a papercut artist who depicts trees, birds and nature with the deft flick of a scalpel and Sue Dewhurst a painter of brightly coloured canvases of Yorkshire barns, meadows and the oddchicken with attitude. Art Tarts serves as their open studio, workshop space and selling gallery offering a wide range of their work including original papercuts, paintings, mixed media work, jewellery, cards and more with prices to suit all pockets ranging from ?2.50 to ?500.

Bernard Dixon was born and bred in Doncaster and whilst appreciating the industry of his hometown, Bernard's artistic eye drew him to the natural beauty of the Yorkshire coastline and he relocated toScarborough in 2007. Although Bernard has no formal art training in the traditional sense he is an experienced photographer, designer and illustrator. He began developing his artistic skills whilst working as an industrial illustrator.

I work mainly in Gouache on standard art paper producing paintings of various size, but if required can work in other mediums such as acrylic, watercolours etc. Living in Scarborough on the NorthYorkshire coast gives me such stunning compositions throughout the changing seasons of the year. The views along this stretch of coast have given inspiration to many artists over the years.

Gabrielle Naptali is a Ceramic Sculptor and Mosaic Artist located on Scarborough UK's beautiful East Coast of North Yorkshire. The 'abundant garden', wildness in landscape & coastline, the proximityto the North Sea and the 'space' on all levels that these provide, influence her modernist ceramic work. She loves the elegant simplicity, natural pattern & connectedness of the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau movements.
